Sea Squirts @ Calvert Marine Museum

Miss Shannon is the guest teacher for the Sea Squirts Program on May 15th at 10:30am. Come learn about Bay Animals through creative movement, dance, and storytelling!

This program is designed to invite adults and children to discover the museum together through music, stories, and special activities. You can attend all the sessions and help your child learn through familiarity and repetition, or drop in occasionally. All children must be accompanied by an adult. For the safety and enjoyment of everyone, older children and siblings may not attend – with the exception of infants.

Meet the Teacher!

Say hello to Shannon Brauner (Miss Shannon), the teacher and founder of Chesapeake Creative Dance.

Shannon's passion for dance began while growing up in Florida, where she trained at Dynamics Dance, the Douglas Anderson High School for the the Performing Arts, and the Jacksonville Ballet. During her time in college, Shannon danced for the Southern Maryland Modern Collective, Maryland Dance Ensemble, Boston Conservatory of the Arts and Furniture Moving Company.

After graduating from the University of Maryland in 2005 with a B.A. in Dance, Shannon went on to perform and teach throughout the DC/MD/VA area. She has more than a decade of experience as a dance teacher, having taught in outreach settings, dance schools & studio, public & private schools, as well as pre-professional conservatory atmospheres.

Shannon has an enthusiastic passion for education, enjoys the energy of children, and is always excited to share her love for the arts. Miss Shannon's motto: when in doubt dance it out!
